Nathan Moreau Signs with Orioles
Parkview's Nathan
Moreau, Gwinnett County Pitcher of the Year in 2005, has signed a
professional contract with the Baltimore Orioles. Read about it in the
Gwinnett Daily Post. Nathan begins his career with the
Aberdeen Ironbirds, the
Orioles short season Class A affiliate.

Shootout Tournament June 19-22
Parkview Baseball
holds its annual Summer Shootout tournament this week, running from
Thursday, June 19 through Sunday, June 22. From the
Shootout Main Menu, you can
get the current schedule,
directions to host sites,
and hotel information. We look forward to seeing all of you who are
participating in this year's tournament.
Zach Cone Selected
Early in MLB Draft by Angels
Congratulations to
Zach Cone for being the 112th player selected in the 2008 Major League
Baseball draft. Zach was selected in the Compensation B round between
the 3rd and 4th rounds by the Los Angeles Angels. We wish Zach best of
luck with his future in baseball!
Bronson Gagner
Selected by Reds in MLB Draft
Also,
congratulations to Bronson Gagner for being selected by the Cincinnati
Reds in the 43rd round of the 2008 Major League Baseball draft.
Likewise, we wish Bronson well with his future!

Nathan Moreau
Selected by Orioles in MLB Draft
Finally,
congratulations are also in order for 2005 grad Nathan Moreau. Nathan is
currently completing his junior year at the University of Georgia and
was drafted in the 11th round by the Baltimore Orioles. Way to go,
Nathan!
Panthers Season Ends
with First Round Playoff Loss to Walton
The Parkview
baseball season came to an end on May 9 when the defending State
Champion Walton Raiders won both ends of a doubleheader in the first
round of the State Playoffs. The Raiders beat the Panthers 7-0 in Game 1
and 6-5 in Game 2. Parkview ends the season with a final record of 20
wins and 8 losses.
Congratulations to the players and coaches on another winning season and another trip to the playoffs. A special thanks goes to all the seniors for your hard work and dedication and for all you have meant to Parkview Baseball. Best of Luck in your future plans!

Announces Future Panther Program
Parkview Baseball is
looking forward to bringing you the Future Panther Membership Level, new
in 2008. Don’t miss the chance to meet Varsity players and coaches
before each Varsity home game. During the game, between the 4th and 5th
innings, Future Panthers will have their names announced over the PA
system. Ten lucky Future Panther members per varsity home game,
including a parent, will be allowed to participate in activities before
the game. Future Panthers will lineup with the Parkview team for the
National Anthem before the game.

All 3 Panther Squads Open Season
with Victories
Parkview Baseball
began the 2008 season on Thursday, February 28, with the Freshman team
defeating Winder 8-4 at home. Congrats to the 9th Graders as they win
their first ever Parkview baseball game.
The Varsity opened the next day by visiting McEachern and defeating the
Indians 7-1. The Panthers then improved to 2-0 with a hard fought road win
over Columbus 2-1 the following day. Parkview's home opener is
Tuesday, March 4 against Northview at 6:30.
The JV team opened its season Monday, March 3 at home against Mill Creek. The JV Panthers also started out with a victory as they defeated the Hawks by a score of 4 - 2.

Summer Team Announced
Congratulations to
all the 8th grade players who were selected to play on the rising
Freshman summer team.

Gagner Verbally
Commits to CVCC
Senior pitcher
Bronson Gagner has verbally committed to Chattahoochee Valley
Community College in Phenix City, Alabama. He will join Panther teammate
Tom Richardson there next year. Details about the signing ceremony will
be forthcoming. Congratulations, Bronson!
Cone and Richardson
Have Signing Party on November 14
Seniors Zach Cone
and Tom Richardson have made college commitments and were honored at
a Signing Party on Wednesday, November 14 at 2:30 in the Parkview High
School Media Center. Cone has committed to the University of Georgia.
Richardson will continue his baseball career at Chattahoochee Valley
Community College in Phenix City, Alabama. Congratulations to these fine
Panthers!

Stephen McCray Signs with Tennessee
2006 grad Stephen
McCray, currently a sophomore at Young Harris College, will continue his
baseball career next season at the University of Tennessee. Click this
